Vorrei un tino di vino - (vor-REHee oon TEE-noh dee VEE-noh) - "I would like a vat of wine please"
After spending a week in Italy, I can honestly say this is most likely the most practical, most essential phrase one should know before endeavoring to spend any amount of time in Italy. I say this without the least bit of eggageration, seeing as I've singlyhandedly managed to drink about the equivalent of an entire vat of wine in less than 7 days (just for referrence, I am typing this post entirely with my right hand, my left is keeping more than busy delivering me a steady stream from my overfull glass of vino. I think it may be my second bottle today).
